Rzeszów Airport Welcomed Its Millionth Passenger in 2024. They Arrived from Riga!

On November 11th, the airport in the Rzeszów suburb of Jasionka handled its millionth passenger in 2024. The Rzeszow Ulma Family Airport has maintained its status among the "millionaires" and will undoubtedly surpass last year's total of 1.02 million travelers served.

“Having our millionth passenger at the airport is becoming a delightful tradition, which, on the one hand, is a result of the high interest and frequent use of our services by passengers, and on the other, an incentive for us to keep expanding our network of connections. This year will be another record-breaker, with more than 1.1 million travelers expected at our airport. In 2025, we are not only planning new routes from Rzeszów but also a range of investments to enhance the travel experience, including modernizing the security checkpoint”, said Bartosz Górski, Vice President of the Management Board of Rzeszow Ulma Family Airport.

The millionth passenger of 2024 arrived in Jasionka on Monday afternoon from Riga, on a new route offered by Latvia’s national airline, Air Baltic. Łukasz Drabicki from Rzeszów was quite surprised when, disembarking from the Airbus A220-300 with his wife Karolina and their 4-year-old son Jacek, he learned of the unexpected celebration.

“We love traveling from Jasionka Airport because it’s a compact airport offering an increasing number of connections. I frequently fly from here to Munich on business, and since our child was born, we prefer charter flights from Rzeszów for vacations to save time on travel. We spent a long weekend in Riga and were pleasantly surprised by this picturesque city and the nearby Jurmala, where we visited the Baltic Sea”, shared the milestone passenger.

Ryanair passengers made up the largest share of the airport’s record-breaking 2024 results (31% of the total), followed by charter flights (29%), LOT (20%), and both Wizz Air and Lufthansa (4% each). The most popular destinations were Warsaw, London, and Antalya.
