Tender Announced for Key Investments in the Airport’s Operational Zone

Rzeszów-Jasionka Ulma Family Airport has announced an open tender for a contractor to undertake construction work on a strategic infrastructure project with both civilian and military applications. This project includes the second phase of the construction of a parallel taxiway and the first phase of a runway reconstruction, with work planned for 2025-2026.

"The expansion and modernization of these critical infrastructure elements represent a crucial stage in the development of our airport, with significant benefits not only for passenger traffic. It is also intended to enhance the airport’s functionality for military operations, thereby strengthening security in this part of Europe," stated Adam Hamryszczak, President of Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport.

The project is co-financed by the European Union under the "Connecting Europe" Facility (CEF) Military Mobility program for 2021-2027. Key tasks include the second phase of the construction of the parallel taxiway, two perpendicular connectors between the taxiway and the runway, aircraft turnaround areas on the eastern part of the airport, and reconstructing a 700-meter section of the existing runway, along with necessary accompanying infrastructure. The work will be carried out in stages to ensure uninterrupted airport operations.
