– We do not work to set records, but we are glad to see that our efforts bring measurable results. What we did was propose an interesting route network so that travellers from Subcarpathia don’t have to travel to regional airports to reach their desired destination. I heartily thank every airport worker, all of the security personnel, carriers, and tour operators, because this success would not be possible without them – says Adam Hamryszczak, CEO of Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport.

Holiday charter travellers account for 37 per cent of this accomplishment, as this summer’s charters operate on routes to Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria, Albany, Montenegro, and Egypt. Almost 45,000 passengers boarded such airplanes in July; for comparison – 20,000 passengers in July last year and 15,000 in 2019, the best year for the airport so far.

Among the regular carriers at Jasionka, Ryanair still holds the position for the largest traffic (almost 31,000 passengers), followed by PLL LOT (24,000 passengers). The airport management is also pleased with the popularity of Lufthansa’s route to Monachium and Wizz Air’s route to Rome which were opened this year; over 4,000 people flew on both routes in July. They were among the top 5 most frequently chosen destinations from the Subcarpathian airport, overtaken only by Warsaw, Antalya, and London.

This year, Rzeszów-Jasionka Airport has served 563,000 passengers so far. The previous record, 772,000 passengers, was set in 2019.
